1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
The 1000 Books Foundation is operated exclusively for charitable, literary, and educational purposes.
The objectives of this organization are:
- to promote reading to newborns, infants, and toddlers
- to encourage parent and child bonding through reading
How to Participate
Any family, whether patrons of Allerton Public Library or not, can participate in 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. There is no minimum age requirement, but once a child enters Kindergarten they can no longer participate.
Visit the library to pick up a reading log and start logging your first 100 books. Each time you reach a 100 book goal, bring your reading log back into the library for a reward sticker. Each participant wins a free book once they reach 500 books, as well as when they reach 1,000 books.
